Our Barnyard

Birds and mammals inhabit our barnyard providing unlimited opportunity for observation, knowledge acquisition, or communing with nature.

Located within view from our playground, the children can observe the barnyard animals while playing. When accompanied by a teacher, the students can enter this area for a close-up, hands on experience. Compassion and respect develop naturally from interacting with and caring for the animals.

The cycle of life is exhibited in our barnyard as chickens, ducks, and goats provide our students babies with which to interact and nurture. Children are encouraged to visit the barnyard often to feed, water and enjoy this environment. Young children and especially those adjusting to the newness of school, find this area comforting.
